I am not sure what "flatten competed sequences" means but if you mean converting an entire sequence to a single audio (or midi) track you can certainly do that. The sections window has buttons for configuring sequences into auto play or auto advance modes. Useful for a live situation.
PhilG wrote:Or maybe I was thinking a section would be a song, and it would have tracks that represented say a verse, chorus, bridge, and I could switch among them to not be stuck in a linear arrangment.
This is certainly one of the uses for subsections. Where each subsection can be dragged within a track to different locations easing the arrangement creation process.

Well in addition to above, there is the jukebox. You could configure the jukebox to hold all your live songs (as some sort of audio file or MP3 file) and then you could have each set be a jukebox preset. In this case you would need to manually stop the songs if necessary in the middle of the set.
François, would know more as he has been using Metro in a live situation for quite some time.

Glad to see the forum still around.

ESoundz has
Omnisynth which is pretty good. There may be a newer Omnisynth 2 somewhere.
I think there are also some fairly good GM SF2 files for free which you can use with the Apple DLS/Soundfont synth.
